The Quick Prince DP3 is a vertical application windlass, perfect for boats with limited deck space, with its motor and gearbox installed inside your vessel's anchor well/storage locker.

The DP3 is available with or without drum capstan for rope retrieval. It is equipped with an emergency manual lift system so you can conveniently retrieve your anchor during instances when you may lose batter power on your boat.

The gypsy supplied with the DP3 can support anchor rode with both calibrated short link chain and spliced 3-strand rope. This is due to the special notching fitted internally, which allows the rope to slide easily.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, the Prince series winches are composed of AISI 316-grade stainless steel with a watertight motor, anodized aluminium gearbox, and an easy-open inspection lid, making it a state-of-the-art vertical anchor winch.

Sold complete with the windlass, solenoid unit, clutch handle and mounting hardware.

Why choose a Quick Anchor Winch?

Each component has been designed in the company’s Italian engineering laboratories. The wide range of equipment for all kinds of mechanical processing enables Quick to obtain high-quality and directly-controlled products.

Do I need a drum capstan for rope retrieval?

The drum is an additional tool which some sailors use for other tasks like hauling rope for sails, dinghies, or craypots (for example). Quick’s vertical winches do not need a drum to haul the anchor up or down because the gypsy does that. Therefore, unless you have a specific use for a drum (like the previous examples), you probably do not need one.

How do I calculate what motor power I need?

Please see the table above for the factors to consider when selecting which motor power would best suit your vessel, anchor and anchor rode combination.

Manual Free-Fall Device:

This allows the manual release of the gypsy clutch, resulting in the chain falling faster.

Flexible motor and gearbox installation:

Vertical windlasses have been specially designed with installation flexibility in mind. The flange allows for the gearbox to be installed in any direction without hindering the fall of the chain into the anchor well/storage locker.

Protection from Water:

The motor includes a flexible PVC gasket which should be installed on the flange of the below-deck gearbox. This gasket is well suited to any surface and effectively protects the gearbox against water infiltration without further intervention being required.

The casing is made of composite material, with gaskets and sealed cable outlets for electric cables. As well as preventing infiltration of water or other liquids, it also delivers high impact resistance and ease of installation.

Metals used in the Base:

AISI 316-grade stainless steel:
- The main material used in most of the winches and windlasses manufactured by Quick and is best suited for the harsh marine environment. Stainless steel has been used for the gypsy and other external parts using sheet metal moulding.
Anodized aluminium in hard oxide:
- This has been used for the base due to its strength and resistance combined with light weight. The hard oxide used by Quick is approximately 50 microns thick, compared to standard thickness of just 20 microns.

Express Shipping (via Air) - usually arrives within 2-4 days

Express shipping will be offered for items under a certain length and/or weight and will display during the checkout process, if applicable for your order.
Orders placed after noon will be shipped the next business day (excluding weekends and WA public holidays).
Heavy/oversize items, hazardous items or items that include liquid do not qualify for Express Delivery because they cannot be sent via air.

Standard Shipping (via Road) - usually arrives within 5-9 days

Most small orders will be shipped by Startrack or Australia Post if the order fits within its weight/dimensions guidelines. Larger orders are shipped using the most economical options from one of our other transport partners.

We usually dispatch your order within 24 hours of receiving confirmation of payment (excluding weekends and public holidays).

FREE Standard Shipping (via Road) - usually arrives within 5-9 days

Free Standard Shipping is available for orders over $250, of certain products, and will be applied automatically as a discount code during checkout.

This offer EXCLUDES dangerous goods, over-sized items, items requiring special packaging and items that are shipped from our suppliers, as they incur a freight surcharge from our carriers. The free shipping offer also excludes any orders shipped to the Northern Territory or Offshore Islands.

Shipping Insurance - Not included in our FREE Standard Shipping Offer

Shipping insurance covers any order lost or damaged during transit (if selected during checkout). The cost of insurance is based on a small percentage of your order value. Shipping insurance will not cover orders that have been delivered and given authority to leave, but have gone missing.

New Zealand International Shipping - usually arrives within 5-12 days

International Orders - delivery time varies

Delivery to PO BOXES

Oversized products, dangerous goods, some various other items that require special packaging cannot be shipped to PO Boxes. You will not see a shipping option if your cart contains these items and you have entered a PO box in the shipping address field. Either change your shipping address to a physical address or contact us to provide a quote for shipping your items to a PO box.
